Helpful Tips To Clean Your Hair Brush

When was the last time you've cleaned your hair brush? Just like everything, in order for them to work well, they need to be cleaned. We wash our hair to remove product build up, the same applies to your brushes, combs, hot tools and accessories.
Today we will discuss ways to keep your hair brushes clean.

Cleaning Your Hairbrushes and Combs

When you look at your hair brush, what do you see? If you see hair and gunk it’s time to get started with cleaning your brushes.
Think about what gets stuck in with the hair in your hair brush: dust, hair spray, oils from your scalp, other product residue, germs, and random particles flying around.
Do you really want to brush all that onto your freshly washed hair?

Step 1: Take your rat tail comb and slide it under all the stuck hair in the brush, and gently tug upwards until it's loosened out of the bristles.

Step 2: Now is the time to really clean. Add some warm water to your sink. Add a little shampoo. You can either take the easy road and let your brush soak (be cautious of the handle on your brush (you don’t want your wood handle to warp). Or you can use a clean toothbrush (the last thing you want to do is add old toothbrush gunk to your hair brush) and gently get rid of the buildup at the base of your brush.
Step 3: You are almost done!  You can now either let the hair brushes air dry, or use a blow drier for a faster result. Some brushes may take longer to dry, it's a good idea to leave them to dry overnight.
Remember: Keep It Clean!
